Hi, I'm a student from the UK looking into Ivy League universities, particularly Harvard, but I'm not sure I have much of a chance.

I just took my SATs, and I didn't do too great:
Critical reading:670
Math: 570
Writing: 620

I'm hoping to raise all those scores to somewhere in the 700s, but do they allow for concessions if you're an international student? I only had two days to revise and my school doesn't provide any SAT help.

I am an IB student, predicted 40 points
I don't have any honors because the UK isn't as big on them, but I also don't really know what they are.
I have a wide range of activities.
My counsellor and teacher's references will (hopefully) be good
And my essays might okay.

They allow for some concessions for international students whose first language isn’t English, especially applicants whose high school’s language of instruction isn’t English. There is not quite so much leeway, I think, for students from the UK/Canada. I’ve only ever told one person on this forum that they were so hopeless that they (she) shouldn’t bother applying. That’s because I think there’s rarely harm in giving it a shot. That said, as it seems like you can tell, anybody’s shot at Harvard is slim, and yours is rather slimmer than most.

How did u manage to get a higher score in Reading and in Writing than in math ? Math is the easiest (for me and I think for most) :)) Not improving your math is like a missing a train cause you’ve slept 2 minutes more :D
