Considering Yale's offer? Have a read here

<a href="http://collegiateway.org/pdf/ryan-2001.pdf%5B/url%5D">http://collegiateway.org/pdf/ryan-2001.pdf</a></p>

This is "A Collegiate Way of Living: RESIDENTIAL COLLEGES AND A YALE EDUCATION" by Dean Mark B. Ryan.

Dean Mark was the dean of Jonathan Edwards College when I was there. His book has several essays that describe the Residential College system. In particular, read p. 17, p. 93, p. 129 and p.143 if you're so inclined. Just download it to your reader and have at it.

BTW: I graduated a few years before the Dalai Lama visited. Rats!

Thanks for the post. I have read it before, but it is good for a re-read.

LIKE

I wish that current Yalies etc understood about the history and the values/pillars upon which the university was founded. Such depth seems a bit lost now…

It is, unfortunately, extremely boring.

the juxtaposition of fogfog’s comment with gudkungodkun’s comment is just AWESOME!

Pls forgive me, I’m easily amused!

Thanks to godkungodkun’s posting, I would have otherwise not seen this pdf. Can’t wait to read it and forward it to my friends that are considering applying to Yale. Thanks T26E4!

I didn’t realize you were a Yalie. I’m JE '95.

Yale alum, alumni interviewer, CC guru…T26E4 does it all :D!

you are welcome

A bump for all the Class of '19 SCEA admitees. Congrats! Please download and read…
