Essays: I thought they were fairly good. Good writing, I think, although the topics about which I wrote weren’t super exceptional.

Reccs: One very glowing, full of specifics, the other somewhat basic, but in it he referred to me as the finest scholar in the history of the school and the smartest and most inquisitive student he’s ever taught. Counselor rec should be good.

Interview: About 75 minutes, so a little on the short side, but it was a new interviewer, and we had fun, I think.

OTHER: None, though I wrote a very nice paragraph in the “extra information” about my visit to MIT this summer and how much I love it.

Other Factors: 85% sure I’m going to go. it’s the #1 science/engineering school pretty much (I’m not sure whether I’ll stick with phyiscs - maybe switiching to eecs). caltech isn’t really my kind of place. may apply to a few ivies, stanford, penn m&t but probably will be too lazy. i just don’t like being stuck without options.
