CONSOLIDATED LIST of AP Exam Curves

I consolidated a few old threads regarding AP exam curves. These are organized by subject and are formatted as follows:

EXAM - (minimum raw score to get a 5)/(max composite score), min. to get a 4, 3, 2 - test year | approximate percentage of points needed for a 5

These are as detailed as possible but some exams just have percentages. These are the minimum percentages for a 5, 4, etc.

REMINDER

The AP curves fluctuate from year to year. The only way to assure that you receive a certain grade is to score safely above the given cut-offs.

DISCLAIMER

These were compiled from the posts of many different individuals. For the most part the curves seem to be accurate but do not rely on them 100%. If you see an error somewhere, please post the correction. Thanks!

Nice post. This thread should be stickied.

Roger that :)

Thank you so much! :)

Oh nice. Thank you =D

Again, if anything seems off, say something. This thread should be really helpful to everyone (especially considering how close AP exams are).

this is quite helpful, thanks.

Thanks a lot, this is really what I was looking for.

What about DBQs / FRQs?

This is very helpful!

Does anyone have any info on Environmental Science?

DBQs/FRQs are included in the calculation of the composite exam score, which is the number in the chart above and that which ultimately determines your grade.

Bump…

The Physics C E+M curve seems much more reassuring especially considering I am still trying to self study it with less than 3 weeks left…

Could you explain how to read this, thank you!

Uh well it’s explained in the first post

Your multiple choice score and free response are weighted and added up to get a composite score. Each number in the chart represents the minimum composite score needed to get a 5, 4, 3, and 2. Anything below is a 1.

thanks! very helpful

Do International, US, and Makeup AP Tests have different curves?

Hi I’m an international and I’m wondering whether there is a different curve between the US APUSH test and the International APUSH test. Thanks!

By 67% for chem does that mean 67% of the test answered correctly, or does it mean your raw points earned / total raw points = 67%? The difference is that getting questions wrong lowers the raw score; anyone have any ideas?

Can someone help me how to determine my score:

I took a AP biology practive test and got 64/100 in the Multiple choice
and 27/40 on the Free response.

Can someone tell me how they caculate the composite score for AP biology.
I would like to know how they weight Multiple Choice and Free response.
