Put me down too

I’m here to help! :)

I’ll do my best to give helpful, constructive input.

Just a heads up to all choosing me to read your essay. I like to use tracked changes in Microsoft Word to provide comments, grammer and punctuation edits, and general advice to those of you writing essays. I don’t have to, but it can make both my and, most importantly, your editing process much more manageable. Again, I am happy to provide comments and changes via private message, but if you are looking for an in-depth edit, this is the best way to do it.

Bearing this in mind, if you are contacting me to read your essay please let me know if you are comfortable providing your e-mail so I can send an attached document and if you are capable of opening a word or pdf document with tracked changes.
(By the way, if you are NOT comfortable providing your e-mail, I believe I can find a way to send PDFs over the internet via link.)
Of course, feel free to contact me if you have any questions about how tracked changes or about college essays in general.
Cheers and thanks for choosing me to read your essay.

Just my two cents here,

DON’T give your essays to people with low post counts. The higher the posts, the better (500 or 1000+). Also, make sure to check out their profile and read some of their posts and threads beforehand.

If you give your essays to someone with a low post count, that person might as well be stealing your idea or write on something extremely similar. Again, I can’t force anyone not to send their essays but I thought this might be helpful…

And no, I"m not a hypocrite, I don’t expect people to send me their essays or trust me with their essays YET (not that I’m not trustworthy, but I still haven’t built my reputation on CC).

would gladly help anyone out.
credentials:
pretty good at writing, 780 on SAT writing

Same thing, I will be glad to read essays! (btw I am a Junior at GWU, so there is no chance for me to “copy” your essays, lol!)

I’m 90% sure that the essay I have now is the one I’m using. If you want me to read your essays, pm me.

ill read some

I can’t work on essays for at least another two weeks, as I have two papers, three exams, and the LSAT. Email me at jrapp@sas.upenn.edu after.

anyone willing to look at my essay?

I have two essays that I need to be read. One is why I am interested in healthcare, what qualities I have that would be useful in a career in healthcare, and what I would learn from being a doctor.

The other is what I can bring to BU and what I would learn at BU.

Anyone willing to look at mine too?
I’ll read if you read mine (:

I’ll read, too

add me I’m a good editor, I don;t usually sugar coat my advice though

can anyone read my common app essay?

it was a long time ago since i posted here to volunteer my editing services. when i felt i didnt have time for this volunteering, i posted here again, saying that i wouldnt be accepting any more essays to edit. since then, i have received countless messages asking for editing help. and even though i sometimes go on cc, i dont have time to offer the very detailed help that i want to provide. i dont want to just do a quick job, i want to be thorough, and that takes time, time i dont have right now. what surprises me is that i still get messages even though my posts are way back in the thread.

i came here again to say, i do not accept any essay submissions. however, there is some good news: for winter break i will start helping out again, during those last final days before college applications are due. so if you havent yet submitted your application, you can look me up then. i will start accepting submissions around december 22, so if you want my editing services at that time, look me up on that day, but not earlier.

cheers,
reptil

More than happy to

Send essays to: courtney.en.pointe@gmail.com

Courtney did a great job on mine & caught some really clunky and unclear sentences I had missed. :)

I’d be happy to edit a few :)

Courtney is also a great editor!

siegby (at) gmail.com

As for my editing style:

I will be completely honest, and I won’t do much grammar work. The essay should be close to done, and I need the prompt.

Agreed. Courtney has been very helpful in correcting my essays!
