@yeolgongkim: I want to go there too for that program! I didn’t get the essay that I submitted read by anyone though…

haha just wanted to thank courtney for reading my essay. I was kind of doubting my decision to send her my essay because it was several days before she replied, but I got it today and she did a pretty decent job considering that she’s still a senior and she has time to LOOK at other peoples’ essays. I don’t even have TIME to work on my apps ]:

Sorry for the slow response, marathonlover! I try to edit the essays as soon as I can, but to give them the time they deserve, along with the time my schoolwork consumes, often means that it’ll be a few days until I get back to you. My apologies!

If you’re sending an essay to me, just PM me, but don’t paste the essay in the PM! I’ll give you an e-mail and you should send it there as an attachment!

I’m not a creative writing/English major, but I’ve read dozens and dozens of essays, probably over a hundred on CC over the past few years. I don’t read that many because I spend about ~1 hour on each one. I haven’t read one since December last year though, so I’m fairly rusty!

Hey all, I’m looking for a seasoned reader to critique my brother’s UC essay and need a pretty quick turnaround (by the end of Monday would be optimal). Someone already in college would be better :). Please PM me if you can and thanks ahead of time!

If you guys are interested in essay help, please PM me to ask for my email address (or you can find it earlier in this thread). I need essays emailed to me, not send over PM. I’ll try to get back to you within a couple days, though it depends on how many essays I’ve received that day. Thanks guys :)

so I’ve scanned this board, and this post, and it seems like the only available essay readers are class of '11 and they’re all pretty maxed out with requests

Are there any older readers (and when I mean older I mean graduated from HS/in college) out there? An0maly has been mentioned but I think he’s been busy/swamped as well.

I would go to my teachers but some of my essays are pretty personal, which is why I’d prefer some one I don’t know to look over them

I’ve probably gotten between 50 and 75 edits on CC. The best way to get good edits is to scan the “New Posts” and find people online NOW! There’s no use in messaging someone with 800+ posts if they haven’t been online in 3 weeks. Find people with 200+ and scan through their post history. Are they reliable? Are they a ■■■■■? Are they applying to your schools? Do they hate people with your essay topic? lol. PM them and ask them if they’re interested in helping you out. If they agree, congrats you have an essay reader! But even if they give you some crappy or empty advice, THANK THEM! They were just surfing the web tonight - they didn’t have to read your essay. I did this method for an entire weekend before my early decision essays were due and I’ll do it again if I have to regular decision. It’s effective. Best of luck guys!
