Sure it will be gr8! Has ur son decided upon what he's doing this summer? Again, u were once telling me that he's thinking of studying abroad or something like that.....how abt that? As for me, the result of the only summer program I've applied (that's quite ironical when I've *tried *to start a thread on 'consolidated' list of summer programs! ha ha!) on April 5th. Now, if I DON"T get in, I've NO IDEA what I'll do this summer!!! So, I only hope I can make it in! :D Again, if I can't do u think there r still summer programs having some late deadlines or something?!

i dont think the santa fe one is residential, i believe one of my friends applied last year and got accepted - but could not go when he found out it was only for commuter

asifkhan -- hopefully you get into the program you applied for. My son finally decided he was going to the Cambridge Tradition (Oxbridge) in England this summer, he received a full scholarship. He also received a scholarship to study at Washington & Lee, Brown, Thomas More and to study abroad in Thailand, so it was a tough decision for him.

I encourage him to apply to multiple programs since the financial aid is always an unknown.

Waoh! I'm jealous of ur son! (grhh..........:D just kidding!)
In fact, Cambridge is my top choice college!

The House and Senate page programs are not only free, you get paid :-D

BUMPing this thread again (oh yeah, did it thousands of times!) Well, I just saw baadassmonkey inquiring abt the free/low cost summer programs, hopefully, I'll see some more additions to this dying thread :)

what's the House and Senate Page programs?

bump! if anybody is interested?

Great to see the thread back on track!

Currently, I am finding the internship options to be really valuable in terms of hands on experience as well as money. NIH has a very appealing program for intership.

And then, major cities (w/ colleges and industries) are always great places for internship which are usually either voluntary or paid.
Correct me if I'm wrong somewhere.

btw, over30: those were really good compiled lists.

^Great thread!

I heard if u apply early u can get good deal of fin aid for almost every summer program..including for the prestigious ones.

4686 people viewed this thread and there's like only 33 replies! WOAH! o_O!

Im really looking for some political/humanites related programs...any suggesetions? BTW this is an awesome thread, im sure many people have found it to be useful, its just that majority of these programs are science-related, which i do not think are for me.
