Construction Management or Business?

Right now i am gonna major in Construction Management but i am wondering if i should switch to a business major. i am pretty much asking which one i would make more money with and which one i would have an easier time finding a job with.

Business Management is a very broad major. Construction management is very specific. With Business M. degree, you could find employment from within any industry. It is “business” after all. You could probably become a construction manager with a bm degree. But I wouldn’t recommend using a bm degree as a free ticket into any management job. The problem is that there is a very large range in salary for a person with a business management degree. According to money.usnews, they can make from 46k to 187k(as 10% to bottom 10% respectively)
Construction management makes around 70-80k.

I personally want to be a construction manager too. I like money, and they do get paid well. I think its not crazy difficult like an engineer. Most importantly, the job outlook for the next decade is pretty good for construction managers.

A business degree can potentially get you into construction management, but the field recruits heavily from the engineering and architecture schools. I don’t believe I’ve met anybody with a business degree in construction management yet actually. That doesn’t mean there aren’t, but it’s just not common.
