Consulting

Hello, I'm an Econ major and last semester I withdrew from an Econ class. I am currently retaking the class and have a 3.6 GPA disregarding the withdrawal. Do you think my chances are ruined for consulting because of the withdrawal? What would I need to do to improve my chances?

I gave up on IB since I bet my chances are pretty much ruined. Even if I am a minority

What makes you think consulting is easier to get into than IB?

In my opinion consulting is much more competitive than I-Banking. Do they recruit at your school? What ruined your chances for IB? A 3.6 may get you a back office job depending on your school, or a middle-tier bank if you have good internships/experience.

I don’t think a W poses that big of a problem. I don’t know much about it, but as long as you explain why, it shouldn’t be a problem. I also withdrew from an Econ class with last semester because I tried to work 40 hours a week to pay for school and it killed me. This semester I scaled back the job hours and plan on getting an A.

Yeah, they recruit at my school quite heavily (Duke)
