Contact finaid office or admissions office for bargaining?

<p>May seem like a stupid question, but do we contact the financial aid office or the admissions office when bargaining for scholarships?</p>

<p>I would think that we contact the finaid office, but how will the finaid office know how much the school wants you? That seems to be more in the field of the admissions office...</p>

<p>Oh, and what are my chances if I want to bargain with UChicago and Rice for some <em>merit</em> money? Are they receptive to bargaining or not?</p>
