I've been thinking about applying to CAS as a transfer than Wharton. However, I would still like to take Wharton classes. Should I contact the CAS admissions on how I would go about taking a Wharton class as a CAS student? Also, would this be a good idea being that it may give the impression I want to transfer to CAS since it may be "easier" to get into than Wharton?

You mean you put down Wharton but now you want to switch it to CAS? You probably should contact them about that.

But, you don't need to say you want to take classes at Wharton. At Penn, you can take classes at any college, making your own majors. You don't talk to admissions for that kind of stuff.

I haven't sent my application yet, but I want to know exactly how a CAS student can take Wharton classes. i.e. do I need special permission from the professor or advisors, etc.

unless the course specifically requires permission, you just sign up for the wharton class like any other college class; no fancy procedures required.
