So I’ve been reading a ton of discussions and forums about the application process to the U.S.'s top music schools and conservatories and I’ve noticed a key point that MAY help you get accepted into your dream school is contacting the teacher you’d like to study with if you get in.
Now, I’ve gathered that you introduce yourself and possibly send a video of you playing a piece, but I would like a second opinion (or several) on how to go about contacting this teacher. I feel like this e-mail is a paradox of sorts: confident, but not arrogant, friendly, but don’t smother them with personality. If any of you could help me with this, I’d greatly appreciate it.
I also think this discussion might be good to inform others who are applying to their dream schools and would like to do all they can to try and get in.
