I kind of feel like I should email a couple profs at a school i've been accepted to, just to let them know that I'm interested in their research and am hoping to meet with them during the grad visit weekend i'm attending in a month or so... i don't really have any questions about their research (mainly because i have an idea of what it is, anymore detail is still pretty over my head), should i bother emailing or just communicate this to whoever is coordinating the visits instead?

One of the departments that I applied to encouraged me to contact the professor I would like to study with in their acceptance letter, but I wouldn't do so unless you have some honest questions or can make up some questions that at least sound honest.

It may also depend on your field...

I agree with al, the school may encourage you to contact faculty members, but I wouldn't advise doing so unless you have ample reason. I was told by my advisor that it is more appropriate to contact them post-visit when they actually know who you are. You then have a reason to contact them and follow up on your visit if they are someone you truly want to work for or want to know more about.

They'll know you are interested in them when you list them as a faculty member you want to meet and talk with during the departmental visit.
