Convince me to go to psu and not pitt?

Both schools are so different but I love them both. This is going to be super hard please help!

This is going to be very much a personal preference thing but I’ll give the reasons I chose PSU.

  • Beautiful campus. It's very green (or, right now, very snowy) and pretty. I didn't like how Pitt was just part of the city; Penn State feels like a park.
  • Good food. There are five dining halls plus the HUB and various other eating options.
  • Things to do. There are a ton of clubs and organizations, and the university schedules things on top of that. You'd think you'd get bored in a suburban-rural environment but between school and the stuff to do on and off campus I never really have.
  • Honors college. I don't know if you applied to Schreyer, but it can be a real selling point to freshmen who get in. Lots of perks.
  • Opportunities. The career fairs are very big for both internships and full-time jobs, and you can get involved with research, being an instructional aide, grading for professors, leading organizations, whatever.
  • Good public transportation. The campus is big but you don't have to walk everywhere if you don't want to.
  • School spirit. Spend a Summer Day was the most concentrated display of school spirit I have ever seen.

Also there’s sports, if that’s your deal.

You can always live in Pittsburgh after grad. Happy Valley is a community built around the college. For most people, your time as a student is your only opportunity to experience it. Pitt is a great education, like PSU, but the college experience and alumni network is so much better at PSU. What are you majoring in?

I agree with Sophley. College towns like State College are fantasy lands and are a great place to spend four years before reality hits. Pitt is a great place to go for grad school if that’s in your future, and Pittsburgh is a great city to live in as an adult.
