I got into the schryers honors college but the campus I initially applied to was Behrend and I would need to transfer to main in one or two years. I did not get into honors college of pitt but it’s closer, 45 mins vs 2 hrs. Planning on either majoring in electrical engineering or double major with that and computer engineering or computer science. Anyone have suggestions as to which college to pick?
So it’s Penn State that you’re considering, not Penn?
Do you want to be in a rural environment or an urban one? Have you visited both to see which feels more right to you?
Would you be commiting to Pitt or living on campus?
Your choice would be Behrend+ Schreyer v. Pitt main, right?
are costs equal?
Personally, I’d prefer Pitt so can be on the same campus all four years. But if you prefer a more rural environment and are OK with the 2+2 then Penn State is an excellent option as well.
Pitt is a really excellent school and the students who go are really into it based on my limited experience with a nephew who is soph. He had psu providence college and Syracuse as options. Chose Pitt and loves it. I’m pretty close with him and we have visited and met his friends. An impressive bunch of kids. He is a business major though I don’t have info on engineering to share. He did get a great summer internship through Pitt
I would say Pitt as well, as being there for four years may be preferable to having to transfer. I have yet to hear a Pitt kid unhappy with their choice. What is your reluctance to accept Pitt?
Thanks for replies, reluctance is penn state schryer. Im leaning towards pitt right now because Im getting 2x financial aid. I dont mind campuses that much, Im looking for the oppertunties.
If financial aid is better then don’t hesitate one minute and go to Pitt.
