i have no idea where to enroll! the websites aren't helping and driving around was useless. can anyone describe the type of personality suited for each college, the college's personality, the student life, faculty, etc..pleaaase! thanks!

These campuses are very easy to distinguish.

First of all, different colleges do not have different faculty and everyone in all college can take all classes for the most part. That is why they are consolidating the liberal arts colleges since there is not a sizeable difference between them. Cook, however, is not a liberal arts college.

Cook College's focus is on the environmental sciences and applied biology kind of. It is supposed to be beautiful and everyone who lives there loves it (though I don't really understand why.) I think that they get really nice housing, apartments I believe.

Douglass College is right next to Cook (I'm not even sure if there's actually a dividing line lol.) This is obviously the women's college. It has a pretty nice campus I think, I don't know I mean its a women's college. If you like the idea of that, you'll like Douglass. If you don't, you won't most likely.

Finally, Livingston College is situated next to Busch Campus. No one is really fond of Livingston's campus or student life or anything, so I don't really know what to tell you about it. The campus was built in the 60's during Columbia's riots and was designed to be "riot-proof." I'm not sure if that's why the campus is pretty depressing, but it's a possible explanation. There aren't that many buildings on the campus. A lot of people who do live in the Livingston Quads actually like it though and feel that there is a special community to them. (actually students at all of these campuses feel that way, since they are different from the oldest and centrally located Rutgers College.)

I hope I was of some help to you!

yes it was, thanks!

Cook to be honest feels so much more like a college campus to me. Theres actual green everywhere. I liked walking to class under the trees and through the trails. Also, the Newell apartments are really nice.

There is no dividing line between cook and douglass, the dorms are scattered among each other. If you look at the distrobution though, one side is more heavily cook and vice versa. Otherwise, its not really a big difference, the Douglass girls use Neilson dining hall too. A bonus about Douglass is that they usually offer bigger scholarships to their students, so if finances are a problem, that might be something to consider.

Livingston...meh, it is very depressing. I hated going there for classes and their dining hall sucks.
