Cool dorm rrom bedding for girls...that is NOT PINK!!

So, Im really excited about going to college next year and living in a dorm..Every major store that I've looked at has unique dorm bedding for girls, but it's always some loud really girly color like hot pink, baby blue, or hot orange. I'm very conservative and stick to the basics like blacks, reds, browns, etc. Where do I shop? Where did you shop?

Thanks in advance for the replies!

I got yellow and dark yellow sheets with a blue comforter. Looks better than I thought it would. I'm a guy. I'm just telling you since you don't seem to be looking for something that's girly. You can always go with dark colors too.

How about Pottery Barn (on the expensive side, but you can go to an outlet or find a good sale), Bed, Bath and Beyond or Linens and Things?

Good Luck!

Haha, I think I'm gonna try to re-create my room mini-style for the dorms next year ;). I mean I'm leaving all the logistics to the summer, but for bedding I'm definitely not going with that cutesy dorm stuff...you can get solid color bedding anywhere...Linens & Things, Target, etc. Then you can just get cool posters or pillows or lights or whatever to make the space more unique.

^^yea thats what i was thinking

maybe look in the guys section? eh whatever, i like my hot pink and yellow linens and things comforter, and hot pink striped sheet set :|

I got mine from Linens 'N Things. It's a "sort-of" paisley print that's all shades of blue and green. And it's not lime green, more of an olive green. I love it!

I have a sort of olive green comforter and light green sheets from llbean. it's not very girly.

I found some cool stuff at delias online, black and white with a touch of torquise...

i can pm you the link

JC Penneys always has a couple of sets that come in like eight or ten different solid-color comforters and 12 or 14 different solid-color sheets.

Try nautica

Bed, Bath & Beyond carries a lot of nice brands and bedding sets that aren't that girly. Although, there is a fair deal of pastel colors.

thanks guys..livin this forum up..it really interesting..lol

My daughter shopped Domestications on-line. She decided on a color pallet she liked then mixed and matched sheets and pillow cases with a reversible comforter + fun print throw pillows - like grovinhard - accents with lights and posters.

crabbylady:

Gotta watch out about Domestications though...

My mom bought my fiance and I sheet/quilt set from them for Christmas and the colors were VERY poorly represented online. I had to send them back on my own dollar.

The site I love for shopping for bed stuff is Overstock. They have styles to suit a wide variety of tastes at a good price. Look into a comforter set from them and be sure there are reviews. The reviews are normally spot-on!

I bought a bed-in-a-laudry hamper at macy's it was olive green/light green. It is a unisex(if thats the right term) comforter sheet set and it had a lil funky design and the comforter was reversable. Also (obviously) you got a mesh hamper with it.

Got it at macy's for $30 originally $100.

assuming that I am not the only chick in america that knows how to sew, make your own (blanket)!

than just find a coordinating sheet set or make those too, although that is a little brave.

Dude, I think the preppy colors of forest green with beige is soo not girly and yet not really boy-ish. You could get sheets and stuff with that one mallard duck design or something.

I got my bedding stuff from Sears, actually. They have (or had at least) a big assortment of 2-color reversible solid comforters and then some patterned reversible ones in each color as well. Mine's different shades of purple, which is sort of girly I suppose. It was $20 or $30. My first one was solid purple that I got from Target, but it didn't hold up too well. You don't want to have to keep buying a new one every two years...

Domestications is the way to go. They have a million options. You can get prints, plain colors, reversables, jersey sheets, plain sheets, stripes, solids, black, blue, green, pink, yellow, whatever you want basically. Start looking around when school ends, because often some mail orders take weeks. I order mine two weeks before i left and it arrived at school two weeks later. Also, you should be fine anywhere with sheets, comforter, and an extra blanket (thermal blankets are great). i go somewhere where its been 30-40 degrees since ive been back for winter (and this is unseasonably warm) during the day and 20-30 at night, but due to crazy heat, i use only my comforter. Also, buy a pillow and test it out. I got to college and realized my pillow sucks. Consider buying a big plushy type one to prop up to read with in bed also.
