At the end of march I came to the UVa campus to 'take a look'. I loved everything I saw and enjoyed the people I met; however, I couldn't get over the fact that Virginia is leaps and bounds away from home: Texas

On the day I was to leave Charlottesville, I purchased a Virginia t-shirt and wore it to the airport. While waiting on my flight out of Richmond, I sat at the terminal listening to my iPod when an passing elderly gentleman motioned to me. I took off my headphones and he said to me, "you made a good choice, son!"

I had no idea what he was talking about. I looked down at my iPod, thinking he was an Apple fan?!? I then realized, after he pointed to my shirt, that he was a 'Hoo. I chuckled, thanked the man, and went back to my music.

My flight back to Houston was delayed for about 2 hours. During that time, I had 2 other people acknowledge my association with UVa--One other man gave me a thumbs up, and pointed to his UVa shirt, and one younger lady said "wahooah!" (or however it's spelled) as she passed.

I thought this was interesting. Of all the times I've travelled I've never really acknowledged random people in an airport. At the time I just figured it was a 'Virginia thing'; however, when I got back to houston and attempting to find my car, I had someone from several rows across the parking lot scream "Wahooah!"

just thought I'd share this. I've never experienced anything like this before.
