Cooper Union Architecture Class of 2013 - 2017 Acceptance

@anonymous886 This is from Cooper Union’s website of 2012 applicants (Which would probably be better than eye-estimating).
3. How many students apply and how many of those are accepted?

Usually we have about 3,500 applicants (900 for Architecture; 1,400-1,500 for The School of Art, and 1,100 for Engineering). We admit about 260 students (30 in Architecture, 65 in Art and 165 in Engineering).

the atrocity those numbers bring. i swear i’m going to poop myself

Greenapp, have you applied for architecture as well?

Yep. 30/900. huhhhhhhh… April is still kind of far away so I am not that nervous. More concerned about decisions made this week.

Do you guys remember whether you wrote an essay for arch app. I remember I didn’t. Did I SKIP A PART OF THE APPLICATION!?

omgg an essay? when? where? WHAT? *freaks out
there were the three-page written questions but no essays.

i remember on their website they said that essays weren’t required, but they would be accepted if sent.

based on what i’ve heard from last year’s decisions, all the acceptances came out first during the last week of march (which would technically mean next week!?!? D: ) and all the rejections (and like 5 waitlists) came the first week of april.

the anticipation is killing me. pooper union is giving me constipation

I knew it… -.-

The anxiety is killing me…I refresh my email page like every minute.
@Anonymous886, do you know if the results are sent through mail or email? My US address is in Oregon, it’ll take longer than most for mail to arrive.

haha thinart, i think its funny we’re communicating (for lack of a better term) in two different forums

but acceptances are express mailed, and rejections are emailed (at least thats what happened last year)

Ya we’re both rly worked up about cooper too ><

Damn…I can’t wait.

Me too holy crap. Okay I’m going to stop answering you on the other forum since its like basically the same topic (just to make things uniform)

It’d take alot to make me drop out. Particularly at a school like Cooper, I think I’d be dedicated enough.

ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh college

This upcoming week is going to be hell with Cornell coming out too

Cornell…sigh…Even if I get in I can’t go. :frowning:
Got into sci-arc/syracuse/pratt/calpoly… already. So damn depressing but I can’t afford most of them, that’s why I’m hoping for Cooper.

did you apply financial aid? scholarships?

i’m in the same boat. its either an almost full ride at NJIT Honors, or Cooper. Cornell and Penn State are out of the question

I think I posted this already on some other thread.

Right now I’m thinking of Cal Poly SLO vs Pratt vs RIT because of the cost. After scholarships Cal Poly and RIT are around $30,000/year, while Pratt is at 40. Does anyone know why Cal Poly SLO is ranked so high despite being a state school/ its strong points?

Schools I’ve Gotten Into (Architecture):
Cal Poly San Luis Obispo
Syracuse Uni
Sci-Arc

Schools I’ve Gotten Into (Industrial Design):
Pratt ($76,000 scholarship)
SAIC ($31,000 overall)
CCA
RIT ($60,000 overall)

Schools I’m Waiting On (Archi):
AA
Cooper
Cornell
USC
RISD (Industrial Design)

Pratt is amazing…I wish i had applied haha

Omg acceptances come out this week who else is scared as f

Anyone heard anything yet??

Not yet :frowning: But the first day of acceptances MIGHT be tomorrow. Judging from last year.

That is uber scary… ><

You know what? Whatever the outcome, I JUST WANT THEM TO NOTIFY ME. LIKE NOW.
I think I’m gonna get a heart attack from checking my inbox.

We’re in the same boat :frowning: the uncertainty is killing me.

By the way thinart, could I shoot you an email instead? Apparently I can’t sent private messages yet haha

Do you guys know when we are getting notifications?
