Hi
I was told to make new thread here to ask about ED result. This is what I asked (below)

Have anyone applied to Cooper Union ED? If you did, when did you hear from whom, and what is your standing?

Please repost on the Cooper Union forum (and use the New Thread button rather than tacking your post onto the end of an completely unrelated thread).

Which program did you apply for? (Art or engineering?)

Hi
It’s their school of art.
I am confused that if anyone is rejected at this point.

Well, I applied Engineering ED and got a rejection email in late December. (Which surprised me, as I wasn’t expecting something so informal…)

School of Art had the same ED deadline as Engineering. However, according to Cooper’s web site, :

If acceptances have already been sent via snail-mail, I think there must have been few rejections sent via e-mail. Perhaps some of those e-mails got stuck in a spam folder and the applicants didn’t realize?

Another possibility (which may or may not apply to Cooper but it does happen at other schools) is that you got deferred for Art ED, but you are being considered for Art RD (where the results don’t arrive until the first week of April.)

Your best bet is asking the school directly. It’s the admissions office job to answer any and all questions people may have. Email might be more convenient.

Hi
Thank you for posting.
the school of art applicants would have to send in home test after the initial deadline and timing is not same as yours.
I have found some other reports on the internet and still being confused but not much there I could do to help my student anyway at this point.
The school of art might not be able to sustain same quality in its class any longer. It is a hard news to take, but fact is the fact.

My son was ED art and just received his rejection letter two weeks ago. He’s okay with it. We knew it was a long shot. He was accepted to other great art schools though, so he already had his mind made up to go somewhere else anyway.

Hi
Thank you for the information. No other sources said it clearly but the Voice article.
It was called “mass deferral” as if most of ED apllicants have being deferred.
So far, faculties and students are against the idea but more likely the school of art have to comply what is going to be decided soon by the board.
You might have saved heartache of being accepted but in the end could not afford, or having less inspiring classes and peers because of this financial trouble.
