i guess the civil engineering program is the most competitive one…it only takes about 20 people every year

btw…is it a snail mail or a Fedex mail ?

Okay…so the acceptance letters are coming in USPS while others are in regular snail mail, I guess

@timxie, it is coming in priority mail. however, i dont think they send out rejections. so far, if u get mail, u get in. no one has received rejections nor waitlist. this is true for my school. 8 ppl got mail and got in. and the rest has not received anythiny yet

@realisticapp:
thanks so ur info…so can u tell me what the postmark date is on the letter?

I guess it is a bad sign for me now…sigh

it is dated march 22.
i hope i can say dont worry.
it is odd. there are a couple of “good” applicants from my school who have not received the mail yet. one got likely from cornell. the other one got into MIT and likely from stanford and cornell (but i honestly dont think she deserved). i dont think cooper sends all the decision letters. i am from new york. no matter what mail service they use, it will nv take this long. perhaps they are still evaluating applicants.

any fine arts majors accepted?

thanks, realisticapp.

Im losing my hope everyday…sighhhhhh…

is there anybody who did not get their mail yet?
or who got their mail postmarked after march 22?

I think now they are sending out the rejections now…my friend just got his today…sigh

what about you?

Nothing yet…but probably a rejection…

this is depressing hahaha…
what happened to the “good students” mentioned above?
god cooper really missed those great candidates?

This is quite reasonable since Cooper is highly competitive…

So have u received anything yet? And can u tell me where u live?

not yet
i live in MO

@ringdingdong:

good luck then!!

Thanks,

good luck to YOU too.

It’s really weird that on the Facebook webpage of Cooper Union, it was posted on March 16th that “Students who applied for first year to the School of Engineering should expect to receive their decision on or around April 1st.”

Also just yesterday, it was officially confirmed on Facebook that “The regular decision first-year engineering decision letters have already be mailed out.”

Why did so many students get their acceptance letter way before April 1st(like a week before)?

Rejected, international. Expected it though.

@ringdingdong: the two “good” applicants were rejected. both are girls. i guess cooper union does not consider gender in their admission. so yeahh…one of them is not smart (the one got into mit. and ppl from my school: please dont tell her! i dont make her cry again). this is consensus in my school. but i was hoping the other one would get in.

if you have not received the letter yet, i am pretty sure it is rejection. but dont worry. i am sure u guys will end up somewhere great. if not, you can still apply transfer.
