how is cooper's film/video program? i haven't heard much, but i saw some work from one of the students and it got me interested.

no one replied yet?
what kind of work do you do? if you like to sit and watch thru Whitney biennial’s every black curtained rooms, you might do well at Cooper.
where are you located?
they will offer commuter only Outreach winter “new media” program new this year.
there will be portfolio review to get in comes Dec, maybe worth testing the pre college water first.
for college itself, sound design and performance concentration are added recently.
there have been old fashioned photos and film, now more and more digi-nized.
I have been to students show and am no good judge for quality of any those works, the nicest thing I can say is “weird”
I love the school, but, I don’t get their works.
It is kind of painful sometimes.
hope current grad/students would chime in, thou doubt they would in here.
there are livejournal and such more frequented by students you can ask specific questions.

experimental, i guess. when i film, i usually tend to think form over content. i play alot with rack focus and slow meditative movement, like a crowd of people ebbing and flowing. the last film i did used heavy solarization and had a heavily worked over soundtrack of found sound, which more or less sparked my interest in sound art and experimenting with found sound. i live in boston, so that would be a no. i’m applying this year, and i was thinking of taking the hometest, but if i went there it would mainly be for film. the only thing is, i can’t find too much information on their film program, so cu is a little murky for me right now.

you sound very cooper, which is murky place no matter what you do.
is SMFA back up? there have been cross admit w/ big aid money for your kinda kids.
there are few moms kids started this year in “launch” thread doing foundation year.
I don’t know any student make film video there but my kid did some Saturday thing for HS kids.
again, the nicest thing I can say is “weird”

nowadays people have own site or self publish works and stuff, you can google it.
If you have old view book/ course catalogue, start from there look up instructors for what they do.
I will go get new one when they have it (donno when, it’s Cooper’s doing)

good luck
