COP2271 or COP3275?

COP2271 (programming for engineers with C++) COP3275 (programming using C)
I have no previous programming experience at all and was wondering which one I should take? I heard C++ was easier than C but in degree audit it specifically said “prior knowledge of programming recommended for COP2271” so I am very confused. Any suggestions?

I personally prefer C++ to C… But that might just be because I started with C and hated it

But I think you should base your decision on mathematics. Do you know the math and do you like math enough to take COP2271? Doesn’t seem like it will test the hardest math concepts, but it might get monotone after a while. In the end I think you would be fine with either one, there is just so much variation you can get in beginners programming classes, the concepts will be mostly the same, be it C or C++, the exercises might just be different. (I would also look into which professors do which course, maybe that makes the decision easier)
