Beginner's Programming Elective

I have no experience in programming/coding but I have always found it to be interesting and would like to learn about it. Is there an elective that is for someone unexperienced like myself? I don't want it to be too incredibly difficult.

Current schedule:

Calc I for Engineers
Theatre Appreciation
Professional Communication for Engineers

Thank you.

I don’t know if there’s any easy programming classes. COP3502 requires no experience. However I wouldn’t consider it an easy class because it can be time consuming + frustrating and difficult to understand. Plus, there’s a 2 hour lab every week. Don’t get me wrong, I love the class, but if you’re looking for an easy A this is not that sort of class. Perhaps you can look at some videos or tutorials online for Java, C++, etc and see what you think about programming. Even with this class your schedule wouldn’t be too hard. If you have any questions let me know!

COP3502 is currently full, do you know anything about COP3275 Programming using C? I think it’d be my only alternative.

COP3502 is more about programming in general, and is more like what you’re looking for. if you want functional knowledge on how to program in C, you take COP3275. the intro to programming classes (COP3502,COP3504) go into more depth on programming concepts and methods, which is probably a better thing to take for interest.

When I tried to sign up for COP3502 it says I don’t meet a prereq. I looked up what they are and couldn’t find anything. Any suggestions?

MAC2311 must be taken with or prior to taking COP3502 which you are taking, I am not sure.
