Any way to cope with the possible rejection. Been trying to read a few rejection letters as of currently, but still am still too nervous for the results.
don’t try, just cry
if you are smart enough to apply to mit, you are smart enough to succeed anywhere you go. also there are so many other schools that are almost as good as mit like purdue, uiuc, umich, etc, where you will receive the same amazing education. it really is the person that counts more than the school name.
With a 7-8% admit rate you are in good company with others who did not get accepted. There are tons of qualified kids each year who don’t get in. There are lots of schools out there - one will CS the right place for you. Spring is a roller coaster with decisions so spread out. Good luck with your other schools.
I got waitlisted Does anyone know how being waitlisted at MIT works
@HardCoreAsian being waitlisted is actually considered really good for mit because they waitlist only a few students who they think will succeed but theres no space. make sure you send in a continued letter of interest and recent achievements or things that can add to your application.
If you get a rejection (-) then focus on the negatives (-) and you’ve got a positive lol.
@Eeeee127 Do I just email the admission office about my recent accomplishments if I wanted to notify them. Or do you think that is being too pushy.
@HardCoreAsian mit will publish an article on what do if ur waitlisted and i think u wait for the update form that they send to you for you to fill out.
Waitlist had about a 10% acceptance rate last year
mit’s waitlist acceptance rate is pretty high compared to the other ivies
How does wait list actually work? I am a bit confused. They accept around 1500 but want a class of 1100. And there are more people in waitlist as well. Any ideas?
basically they expect 1100/1500 people to accept their spot but there might be a few people who don’t, and they start using the waitlist to fill up their class to 1100
I got rejected from Purdue this Spring semester, but I filled out the Application Change Form to be reconsidered for the fall. Does anyone has experience of what to do next, please share with me.
