Okay so two of the schools I'm applying to have more or less the exact same prompt for their supplements, just worded differently. Those 'why' essays, again.
Truth is, I'm applying to both for pretty much the exact same reasons...
I've already submitted one of the essays to the first university, but after a lot of drafting and redrafting I can't seem to start over originally without recycling ideas from the first essay to my second one. And even then it doesn't sound that great...
The best thing I've come up with so far, for the second school's app, is basically a few ideas added, and one or two taken out of the essay I've already submitted. But the majority of the essay consists of whole paragraphs which are identical, other than the school's name.
Will I be allowed to submit this? :S

If you're worried about plagiarism..... it's not plagiarism because the essay is your own material.

As a writer, you're actually ENCOURAGED to recycle material in your essays: It's so much more efficient.

If you believe it fits perfectly with the prompt, you can even reuse the same EXACT essay. What you do NOT want to do, however, is force-fit an essay to a prompt because you're too lazy to come up with a proper one molded to the prompt. But..... I don't think that's your case :)

Thanks so much for the info!
Yeah the schools are actually really similar, which is why I chose them both to apply to...
And yes hahaha I read so many stories of people doing that by accident that I freaked the hell out of myself and checked it over about a hundred times already lol!

Be sure to check all other school related info - two schools in ME both talked about how kids would leave the name of the wrong town in the essay even though they changed the school!
