<p>Hi, I'm trying to apply for the Cornelius Vanderbilt Scholarship as it is the only way I will be able to attend the University.</p>
<p>The essay I have to write is based on the prompt below</p>
<p>"Which academic interists and/or passions might be part of your academic journey at Vanderbilt and why?"</p>
<p>I love math (as my name shows) and science, I have been in SGA for 5 years as well as Science Olympiad (4 state medals) and have placed in many math competitions. I also tutor students (for pay) outside of school.</p>
<p>I have tried to research this prompt but I can't really find much. Please help me get a start?</p>

<p>Maybe peruse the Vandy site. Look at the departments and where you’d like to spend your time. Look at the classes, the profs, their research. Something may just spark your interest and give you the momentum you need to get you writing!</p>
<p>I am writing the same essay. I am kinda confused about the same thing - my essay is too generic about how psychology came to interest me due to personal psychological issues, and how i want to research that. I am looking for some way to make it shine.</p>
<p>By the way, isn’t Vandy full-need? How is the scholarship your ‘only’ way to pay the fees?</p>
