When examining you for admission does the adcom look at what your prospective major is? For example, I am applying to CAS as a chemistry major; will I be evaluated as a prospective chemistry major or just a random CAS applicant?

I may be wrong but I think that if you're applying for junior standing, your application will get evaluated by both college admissions and chemistry faculty. Cornell does consider your prospective major, although, it does less so for CAS than for other schools like CALS.

Yeah, I heard that HumEc does that as well. They have professors look at applications to determine fit because they figure that professors know the major and the curriculum better than anyone else.

Yeah I think if you're applying for junior status (which, because we are applying for spring, will only be half-true), you should have most/all of the prerequisites for your major completed prior to enrollment, so I think that which major you are applying to will definitely be taken into consideration.

Would any of you be willing to join a "Cornell 2009 Spring Transfer" facebook group? Considering the very short time between transfer decisions and the start of winter semester, it would be nice to get to know eachother prior to going to Cornell.

How important do you guys think the midterm report is? I mean I think I'll have a mix of A's and B's on my midterm report, yet I'm a straight A student. My midterm reports in the past have never had all A's on them, but I always finish strong.

I'm applying as a Spring transfer as well. As I was reading through the posts, I saw that someone said that they're disappointed that there aren't that many spring transfers on here (Sorry, used "that" too many times). BUT, I have to say, I'm happy!!! If this forum, is as popular and well known as I think and hope it is, then maybe there aren't that many of us applying which means a bigger chance for all of us to get in! Yey!

Am I the only one who's not quite done with the application? :(
