My friend from RIT who transferred to CAS had the same stats with worse highschool grades (same highschool) and SAT grades, but he had better EC's. He's also employed as a programmer.

I'd say your numbers look good for a CAS transfer. Just make sure you're essays effectively communicate your reasons for wanting to continue your education at Cornell. That essays + great recs and I say you have a great shot.

I transferred to CALS a few years ago...if you have any questions, feel free to PM me. Good luck!

Yeah, it seems that you have a pretty good chance.

Why do you want to transfer?

I want to transfer because it puts me closer to home. I also feel that Rochester isn't challenging me enough academically. I took three courses at Cornell and felt that I was getting more out of it than Rochester. My mother works there and there's tuition benefits involved as a student at Cornell.

Plus the food's good :)

I'm planning on applying for fall '09 transfer. I wish I had a 4.0 college gpa! I think you have a good chance. You're so lucky your mom works there and there's tuition benefits. good luck :)

Does anyone know how strict they look at midterm grades? I took my first test this semester a few days ago, and I'm stressing out because I probably earned a B on it. It had to happen on the night of the busiest day of my week. Argh

Also does it help that I took 3 courses at Cornell? I got an average grade for general biology and multivariable calculus (B-) and an A- for Organic Chemistry. My major is chemistry by the way.
