2009 Fall Transfer To NYU

Hey everyone, now that the spring semester decisions are almost all out. Now its time to start a thread for everyone who is applying to NYU for the fall of 2009.

Penn State Freshman
Finance major
GPA: 4.0
EC: President of Polish Society, Secretary of Financial Management Association, Wall Street Boot Camp, the investment association

HS: GPA: 3.9 weighted, 3.7 unweighted
SAT: 650 math 510 CR (yeah, bad)
EC: a LOT but fewer leadership positions
Eagle Scout, Presidential Academic Award, top 10% of class, good citizenship award, a huge scholarship from the school

I am considering transferring for next fall or the year after that as a junior transfer so that my HS stats don't matter as much. If I continue at this rate I also want to try Wharton, Cornell, and maybe Columbia.

Maybe I can redo my SATs as a junior transfer?

NYU doesnt look at SAT's when your a transfer, so there is no point in retaking them, but if your trying for those other schools. I would say yes retake them.

do you have to send your SAT's to NYU as a transfer (if you've completed 45 credits)?

No if you completed more than 30 credits, you dont have to send them your sats. They arent needed for transfers

anyone......

Hey where did you read about the 30 credit SAT thing? Also, is this for all NYU colleges? Thanks.

I can't speak for all NYU schools and colleges but I did not send my SAT when I applied to NYU for the spring semester with 41 credits. I applied to CAS and was accepted. I would suggest that anyone planning on not submitting test scores call the admissions office and speak with a counselor about your particular situation. This is not the type of thing you want to take general advice on, if it turns out they do, for some reason, need your scores then it will delay the processing of your application.

I know when my cousin apply for spring 2009 semester. she only had 30 credits completed, she called and ask and they told her she didnt have to send it.

Do I have to submit standardized test scores if I am applying as a transfer student? - Topic Powered by eve community

SAT Subjects Test - Topic Powered by eve community

Yea, I'm going to call and ask them on Monday.

Are they open on monday?

wow it seems like every board i make. it dies really fast. lol

nyu44- don't feel bad. this thread will soar once people get their apps in. Some people (like me) are sending their apps in earlier, but most people will be on here between mid-March and mid-May!

cherrybomb-yeah me too. im sending in my apps early so i wont have to worry about it. I'm probably sending it sometime this week.

Hi everyone. I am a freshman at Dominican University in California and I am planning to transfer to NYU for fall 09. does anyone know if they look at our college GPA because it didnt say anything about it on the website.

Um thats usually the most important thing they look at when there reviewing your application is your college gpa and grades. b/c your a freshman they will also look at your SAT scores and hs gpa more closely.

hey everybody!

im applying for fall '09 as well! this thread is definitely going to start picking up as soon as march comes around. here's to hoping we all get in!

hi NYUJOSH which school are you applying to?

I'm not sure yet but I'm applying to stern or cas fall 09.
