I would reallly love to study abroad if I were to get into Cornell. I mentioned it at the end of my Cornell supplement in a few sentences.

Anyone else mention this program in their Cornell essay?

I wrote about it in mine, but I don't think it will have much of a bearing on undergrad admissions. If you're really interested, I encourage you to talk to the person in charge of study abroad within your college so you can start planning early. I visited the ILR guy (Kevin Harris) and we started to go over the whole application procedure, financial stuff, etc. Cornell has a great study abroad program so you'd probably find what you're looking for.

Just how early are you supposed to start planning? I’m a GT and the fact that I am a GT might make it harder, but I absolutely want to consider study abroad…

Sophomore or Junior? When I talked to him, he was glad I was thinking ahead, but I think you can start planning sophomore year. You can't do much as a freshman anyway except get your requirements in order and keep your grades up.

i'll be a soph. next year!
