"Cornell University President David J. Skorton announced today that the university and its Weill Cornell Medical College (WCMC) are launching a $4 billion capital campaignthe largest for Cornell, New York's land grant university, and the second largest goal in the history of higher educationto advance education, discovery, and public service, and to make transformative contributions in areas of critical social importance."

"The comprehensive campaign will raise in excess of $4 billion to support undergraduate and graduate students, with a focus on increasing scholarship support and financial aid; recruiting the next generation of faculty, scientists, and scholars; and by renewing and building state-of-the-art facilities best suited for 21st century teaching, learning, and research, across the university's campuses."

As usual Tommy Bruce and his communications team have done a really nice job with this website...very inspiring...I might even part with a few shekels..LOL

The VP of Development, Charlie Phlegar looks like he's hit the ground running...I think he and Skorton are going to make a good team...We'll see if our old ace, Inge Reichenbach can keep up with them over at Yale...

But if they REALLY want people to contribute to their campaign, they should post a full-screen picture of Uris Hall, with closeups of the rust dripping down the ugly concrete base and a caption saying, "If you people donate [X million dollars], we'll take a wrecking ball to this eyesore."

People wouldn't be able to write the checks fast enough. ;)
