Cornell CALS

Hello, I am wondering if transferring to CALS is still as easy, even for an out-of-state student?

bump

I am wondering the same thing. I have heard though that Cornell is the most transfer friendly Ivy, and if I do remember correctly I believe I read that they accept around 30% of transfers. Out of state doesn’t have anything to do with it since it’s a private school.

Well, I saw a statistics and saw that transfer acceptance rate for CAS is around 8% and for CALS is around 42%

There are a lot of variables to consider. CALS has guaranteed transfers, as well as transfer agreements with over 30 community colleges in New York and China. Considering out-of-state vs. in-state, it would be reasonable to infer that they would prefer to admit out-of-state because they get more money from out-of-state students. Honestly, I have no idea.

In case you didn’t know, CALS is a contract college. They receive state funding and offer reduced tuition rates to New York residents, but I don’t know if they select for NY residents in the applicant pool over out-of-staters.
