Cornell chances of me getting in?

I’m an oncoming junior in my high school so everything’s not set in stone but given my current stats and prospective ones, what are my chances of getting in for any of the biological sciences and/or astronomy?

  • GPA is ~3.95 -Ranked currently #7 out of about #155, hoping to get further up
  • I've only taken the ACT once and didn't get as high a score as I'd like, but I think thst sfter taking it a few times I'll have a 29-30 -Taking the SAT this fall, I think I can get a 2000 or above, higher in reading than in math
  • Junior year I'm taking AP English (counts as college credit, too), AP Physics, and AP AP Gov -Senior year taking AP Language, AP Calculus, and AP Chem -I'm taking my 3rd year of Spanish this year, planning on taking it a 4th year Senior Year
  • I've made honor roll all year except for one B first grading period sophomore year ( an 89.7%!!!) -As for extracurriculars, I don't do any school sports but I've been a ballet dancer since I was three -I'm an active member of Student Counsel, possibly running for Vice/President junior year or senior year -Member of my school's Youth in Government delegation. I just got elected as secretary for the oncoming year, and I've got good chances of being President of the club for senior year.
  • Member of a local Astronomy Club, also thinking about starting my own at my school
  • Participated in many art related things at my school (had my work showcased, as well as winning three art competitions)
  • 4-H for three years, mainly to be a camp counselor during the summer -Junior year, I want to start tutoring elementary schoolers and also volunteering at a hospital near me. -My school got rid of National Honor Society for whatever whacked reason and replaced it with a local scholars program, but nevertheless I plan on joining (they usually induct during sophomore year but the teacher running it was out on maternity leave so as far as I know induction will be at the start of junior year)
  • My high school isn't the best academic wise and very few of even the valedictorians go on to anything more than the state university (Ohio State, Uni of Cincinnati) with the occasional out of state good college. my guidance counsellors aren't the best supportive wise to students wishing to go to highly ranked universities and acted very surprised when they learned of me wanting to go to Cornell, advising me it probably isn't the greatest to try but if it's what I truly want, do it anyways just making sure to have safeties. -First in my (relatively close) family to attend college

I plan on applying to Cornell ED because of the acceptance rate for that being about 27%

I know it’s probably a reach for me but it is truly what I want.
Do you think I have a good chance? If not what else could I be doing to further my chances of getting in?

Can’t say anything right now, since I don’t know to what school of Cornell you are applying. In general, you would be hard to chance as you have not yet started your junior year, haven’t taken your SAT’s and have not stated your ACT score (but by the looks of it, it’s not too good). BTW, isn’t the SAT out of 1600 nowadays?

Being a first-gen college student, applying ED and being from an underrepresented geographical area will probably be in your favor, though.

Another thing, would Cornell be affordable for you?
