Cornell Chances

what chance do i stand at cornell as a junior transfer..

econ/business major

3.9 college GPA
buncha EC's, job

crappy HS.. 3.4GPA, 960 SAT score

oh yea.. coming from a california community college

Does Cornell require the SAT? If so, you'll definitely need to retake. Your GPA is high but you really need something else to set you apart.

yea about the SAT.. cornell says that if u have taken SATs to send them, but they say that if u never took them not to worry about it.

does this mean i can just.. not send it?

i think you need to bump your stats way up there. despite your "high" gpa, you are coming from a community college. also, i don't think cornell accepts credits from community college. i don't know about transfers, i had a few friends from arts and engineering that took a few classes at cc and could not transfer any credit. your high school gpa is also low.

myl27.. i sure hope u are very wrong. no offense

You don't have to hope, he is wrong. They may not accept dual-enrollment credits for entering freshmen, but for transfers they'll take your credits. Since you have two years of college behind you, the weight placed on your SATs is minimal... However, since you're coming from a community college, your college record doesn't prove that you could handle a Cornell coursehold (I'm not saying you can't, but your SATs may be looked at as an indicator in this case). Good luck, your GPA is impressive and if your essays are good, you have a decent shot.
