Cornell Class of 2020 Early Decision Discussion

Have you guys been accepted anywhere early action yet? I have Fordham, McGill, University of Vermont, and Tulane as backups, but I’m set on Cornell…

@NorthCoaster Good question. So basically you search the university name into a search bar (on the left part of the website after you click Colleges tab), click the university and see the stats below. I’m not sure if the format of Naviance is the same as yours, but I hope it comes out for you as well.

Apparently Cornell is ranked 56th in the top 100 party schools if that interests anyone

The party scene should not be a factor in why you chose Cornell but I guess the term “work hard play hard” can be justified.

@seniorlife555 I checked “School Stats” and “Application History”, but there’s no info regarding any HS Class of 2016 EDs :frowning:

@NorthCoaster Hmm…well some universities don’t show the application history for me either. For example, Harvard, Yale, etc. Weird.

Yeah, some schools don’t have it

I heard that naviance posts the info of the schools if a significant number of students apply there over a number of years

No one in my school got into Cornell RD even though all of them have pretty high sat with 2100-2150 range. And I only have 1900s with fairly low reading score, i think I don’t really have a chance.

True. So if there was only a small amount of applicants, it might not show.

Mine has the data from last year but not this year

For our school there is an unusually large number of ED applicants to Cornell this year (9). @jf2580 don’t worry…I have one subject test score so low they are bound to have laughed and thrown me away.

How do you find out how many people applied to your school through naviance?

haha @NICE8x not really. subject test score should be fine, I bet you got much higher ACT/SAT, whats school did you apply to again?

Cornell “150 years Glorious to view” sound track, hopefully it can help you guys relax a little bit.

@jf2580 My SAT is in range (average based on Class 2019 data) but not super high. My GPA is the only strong part of my application. I applied to CAS.

You’d think it would feel good that people are like “omg stop you’re definitely getting in”. I would almost prefer them saying “you might get lucky” so I don’t have to let anyone down. Sadly in my family if you don’t attend an ivy-level school we’re embarrassed , just hoping I don’t break the streak ;l
btw I also had a good chance for Upenn Brown and Dartmouth just love Cornell. <3

@rugsbunny When I go to the Cornell Univeristy page on Naviance in the bottom left hand corner it lists how many applied each year and how many got in. If there is not enough data for your highs chool for the college you are looking at then it will be blank.

@NICE8x Cool, I think you got a chance

i wish i had access to naviance. this sucks
