GPA: 4.33 but for UC’s its like 4.2
act: 32 (barely made it, got this result in October… Admissions said they would consider the score yay–> previous score 29)
college: CALS
ec’s: I did biochemical/molecular research with a professor at the uni of British Columbia. I worked in a lab for a summer program at Cambridge University (in the UK). I played soccer for both school and club. Captain for club. A bunch of various community service. Pianist/Organist. I tutor (for free). I participated in a few clubs but mostly for service. There are other ec’s but I didn’t want to bore you.
Essays: I focused my supplement on my research experience at UBC and how I can find myself continuing that type of research at CALS and how the learning environment suits my style. Common app was about my adaptation to American culture and how I began to understand both my european culture and american culture better. I’m first gen to go to college in the U.S.
I also don’t think admissions is done with selecting apps because on the 20th I was told that they received my ACT score and that the committee that looks over my application will have access to the score.
@CCSenioritis ever since i saw my brother get rejected from his earlies and stress all through winter break, I have always wanted to get in early and relax. I am praying that that happens so if i don’t get in i will be very sad to say the least
Even though many of you are worried that the increased number of people on College Confidential is scary, remember that this website has been increasing in popularity at a rapid rate. Just two years ago, no one in my school used this website or really knew about it, but now, almost everyone I know used this website in some way! The increase of the number of people on this thread as opposed to previous years is probably due to that. In addition, I think we don’t need to look farther than the release date for the results to see a good sign. Usually, the farther back the date, the more applications there are. Considering how early the release date is this year, we can assume that there are probably fewer applicants than usual. Just my two cents on the applicant pool size. Sorry about the long post.
