Wow, I hope that email is a good indicator that they will accept you. Awesome!!
@MaxNibs
It’s from a different institution. Cornell college is not Cornell University
@MarvinTheSnowCat Whoops! Looks like you’re right hahaha. Boy do I feel tricked.
The good news is that I applied to Cornell University (not College)!
@MarvinTheSnowCat Lol yeah just about to say that before I saw your post. Pretty sure the Ivy league has some guidelines on how and when offers come out so that wouldve violated their convention or whatever.
Applying to the engineering school as a ChemE, though planning to minor in ILR b/c I’m also a big policy nerd
Edit: lol I wonder how Cornell College (or their student body) feels when other people get confused with the university. “Yeah I go to Cornell” “Woah dude Congrats!” “Yeah Cornell College is great” “Oh the other Cornell” — Not to rag on college, I’m sure they have a good education too
Applying to materials science in Engineering
How soon should we expect an email about account setup after applying? It’s been a couple days and nothing so far. Maybe just because it’s a busy time of year?
FL applicant here.
RD application submitted 12/29.
Good luck!
has anyone gone on the applicant status and it says common app was received but not the other forms that were sent through common app?
@samantha98 My D had the same situation at first, and a day or two later the site updated to reflect all of the materials as received.
@altmusicman Thanks for this. I was worried when I saw the same thing on my status as well.
How long did it take to get the portal info? Things tend to get lost in my son’s email lol.
@CAMidwestMom My D submitted her Common App on a Saturday and got the email with the portal information the following Tuesday. Assume it may take a bit longer over the holidays now.
Thank you @altmusicman !
thank u i was going to call the school but i guess i will wait now to see if it changed @altmusicman
Int’l Applicant! Applying to CALS as Applied Econ.
Good luck everyone!
When do the results come out (in prev years)?

I am so scared… I read through a thread (10 years and going) of graduated seniors, and I saw that many, many qualified students (I’m talking 2250+, 35+, 3.9+ GPA students, tons of ECs) were waitlisted and often outright rejected by Cornell. This freaks me out so much as I am not as competitive. I know all Ivies are crapshoots, but I’m still shocked by this. On the contrary, ED/RD Cornell Results threads show students with lesser credentials who were accepted, which is a little reassuring. Someone, give me some concrete info here (though I understand there’s nothing concrete about Ivy admissions)…
DD just got her link to portal. Submitted two days ago. As other reported they only indicated receipt of common app part and test scores. She only took SAT once. Her CR just has her score listed. Math and writing has > sign before words Math and Writing. What does it mean? All 3 components of her score are pretty high, but CR is the highest.
@amyleeal Stats aren’t the only thing thay Ivy’s and top20 schools look at, or even ECs. Essays play a big part too along with your recs – stuff you can’t see on the result threads.
Anybody know what Cornell means by the 2017 January admissions thing? There’s a small thread about it but I still dont get it.
@Zeppelin7 If you do not get admitted for fall 2016, they can instead bring you in for the spring 2017 term.
Also, does anyone know if cornell allows transcript and test score submission after the deadline?
