Cornell Class of 2020 Regular Decision Discussion Thread

hmm shade on brown? I’m here for it

Hey, I applied for CALS but Bioengineering major. So do they consider me as a woman in engineering?

Today’s senior skip day at my school and in every class I’m in, it’s just me and, at most, three people. :’(

“March 15 – April 1 Ivy Blackout and Moratorium periods: no contact with applicants” <- which means LLs should be sent in 5 days?

@labyrinth1997 where did you hear that?

@Senior123211 https://caaan.admissions.cornell.edu/CAAANCalendar.pdf

CAAAN is the alumni interviewing network - the moratorium on contacting applicants only applies to alumni interviewers.

I just received an email from a Human Ecology Ambassador asking if i had any questions about my major or being a student of color at cornell. Not sure what that means

Does anyone know if they superscore the ACT?

From Admissions blog (they don’t answer outright, just that seeing all allows them to pick your best):

Does Cornell participate in Score Choice?

No, Cornell does not participate in Score Choice. When you send your SAT scores we ask that you send us all of your scores, including all Subject Test scores. When sending your ACT scores, send us all test dates. This allows our selection committee to review the scores that are most supportive to your application. It is to your advantage to send all scores!

I don’t think they require all ACT’s anymore though. can’t remember where i saw that though but the lady from admissions help desk said they take score choice.

@CCSenioritis I think thats a good sign !

@motortrend I hope so!

@cjh1998 Don’t know about the ACT but I asked Cornell’s counselor, specifically about SAT super score policy. On their webpage its a bit confusing so I directly asked them. This is what they responded:

Hello Friendslover –

Thank you for your email. Cornell will review your highest SAT critical reasoning score and your highest SAT math score with your application. We will pull those scores from different test dates if necessary. Therefore, we will not review your lower SAT scores, only your higher ones.

Regards.

So I guess they will be superscoring the ACTs as well.

Isn’t it odd how they just won’t use the “S” word?!!! Lol

Does anyone know anything more about SHA acceptances? Will we just have to wait until the 31st?

@jmccusk yes…from an SHA admissions officer “there are two waves of acceptances. the first was sent out the first week of march and the second will not be until ivy day”

Just got an email from Human Ecology letting me know decisions will be released on 3/31

another good sign!

Wondering if anyone had applied for a Mathematics major and has got a LL?
