Cornell Class of 2020 Regular Decision Discussion Thread

@HRSMom I’m trying:)

@Princetonian9 Ikr! It honestly feels like they’ve forgotten I applied

My stats aren’t the great but I mean there should still be a chance.

@Princetonian9 Ikr! It honestly feels like they’ve forgotten I applied

@Princetonian9 Same here for a school like Cornell. I’ve kkinda lost all hope at this point

@Princetonian9 Don’t worry! I was super worried because my SAT is only 2030 and I didnt think I’d get in for Engineering, but I did so anything is definitely possible

2030 is higher than mine haha. That’s a great score by the way you should feel good that you made it. It wasn’t by chance believe me. Mine is 1830, English isnt my first language.

Don’t mind me asking but are you an URM

@Princetonian9 I’m half Mexican but I still put that I primarily identified as White on my common app iirc

ED? (I think P was wondering how you know, ED or LL?

I think im considered white (middle eastern) under common app, but Im actually Palestinian, does that even carry any weight…

@Princetonian9 depends on the school. I’m turkish and they consider me white…sigh

@schroscat Count yourself lucky they do not consider you as “Asian”.

@maxentius OH MY DEAR GOODNESS I KNOW. I THANK MY LUCKY STARS.

Does cornell send letters in the mail if accepted, like a package or something.

can students who received LLs share their stats? especially international students pls…

Hey guys. Okay so I think there is literally 0 chance of me getting in. I had no idea that for CAS there was a requirement of 2 SAT Subject Tests, and I did not realize this until about a couple weeks ago. I e-mailed them about it, and they said they would still review my application just without the tests.

But am I correct in thinking my chances are completely shot because of this?

@soph1112 Gotta be honest with you, it’s not looking too hot. Unless the rest of your application is extremely stellar, the adcom is going to think you’re not that invested into Cornell if you didn’t even notice that they required 2 subject tests when it’s posted on the website.

@soph1112 Your chances appear grim, but I know a URM girl who was admitted to CAS and invited to Diversity Hosting before her Feburary 20 Subject Tests had even been scored, so people are occasionally accepted without them.

@soph112 I would not look into it too much. If the admissions team likes you and your application, they could possibly give you an offer that consists of taking an exam at a later date.
