Cornell Class of 2020 Regular Decision Discussion Thread

Anyone apply for Hotel program? I haven’t heard anything since my application.

@Princetonian9 thank you so much! I wish you the absolute best. you seem like a great candidate for Cornell and they’d be crazy not to accept you!

@kcoleman89 Thanks, i sincerely appreciate that. I tell myself the same thing haha!

You all seem like very nice folks, and I hope you ALL get into your #1 picks:)

Reading all of your stats it seems like you all have nothing to worry about, I feel like I was worse off than you and I still got my Diversity Letter, there’s still hope !!

I’m kind of worried (although I shouldn’t really be, I don’t think) because I’m a minority without a diversity letter. I just wish the wait would be over already.

LOL I’m not worried and I think I should be

@jaxson hey i applied for SHA…i also haven’t heard anything since i submitted my app but it seems thats the same for everyone else except some of the applicants who were accepted early march. what are your stats if you don’t mind me asking

@Princetonian9 what you’re talking about with transferring in after spending a year at another college is guaranteed transfer. If that is a possibility, it will say so in your decision letter. Now mind you, nothing is stopping you (should you get rejected) from going somewhere else and then applying for admission again next year, but there will be no guarantee.

I got into WUSTL. Do you guys think I have a chance for Cornell University.

@DAVE437 Cornell is just slightly more competitive than WUSTL, so I think you have a fair shot.

Shiiit does it comes out on the 31st or April 1st? I’m not ready for thissss. :-S

Guys did everybody get an Interview? Does it mean anything whatsoever?

@grimx98 just speaking from personal experience, I got one. The most non-evaluative interview I’ve had. Basically to add anything you may have neglected in your app and I guess also show interest.

@LViaLViaquez yeah, I got it too. I was just curious if it meant something or not.
Thanks!

@grimx98 if Cornell is anything like other selective universities I’d assume they try to give an interview to everybody but it depends on the area/availability of alumni. For example, I live in central Texas so I’m going to assume there aren’t that many Cornell alumni in the area and I didn’t get an interview. No idea if other people did though because I don’t know anyone else who applied.

@bluepaint1 ok Thanks! I also think is just based on area. For example my interviewer was from my same town.

@grimx98 yeah im pretty sure its by region. The guy that interviewed me said he grew up in the same city

@litlhoward2468 gpa 3.9/4.4., sat 2120, lots of leadership EC and related experience, caucasian; i am thinking that the spots are probably already taken at this point based on all the LL etc. did not get local interview

@jaxon @litlhoward2468 For SHA, i’m not sure any LL’s were sent out?
