Cornell Class of 2020 Regular Decision Discussion Thread

@dabdanze92 it means nothing everyone gets one

And if it’s like ED I believe we will get an email when the decision is up

@cuhopeful16 thx so much. I heard rumors about getting notification letters means rejection. I am so frightened.

You’ll see either way in 4:30 hours

Arrival time on emails means nothing. When large batches of emails are sent from one source (for instance, Amazon sends out their Kindle Daily Deal or American Eagle sends an ad to their entire subscriber list) that email is flagged by the recipient’s server as a mass email. Hotmail may release those to inboxes faster than, say, Yahoo or Gmail or your high school’s server. It all depends on their default level of spam protection and the server’s protocols for receiving and processing mass emails. You shouldn’t read anything into the time you receive a mass email from a university.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Its today.

I am getting a haircut right now so I look nice for the decisions

ahahaha get some lunch too, who knows when you’ll eat again  (too busy celebrating)

I feel calm now but come 5 minutes before decisions I’ll be having a heart attack.

Same

The email says there are 41000 applicants and there are only 6000 something spots I just lost it X_X

The acceptance rate is going to be insane

Imma just listen to Alright by Kendrick Lamar as I open the decisions.

.

@cuhopeful16 like crazy hard or a little more lenient than past years?

Dont forget about the spring transfer option…Cornell admits that they cant admit all of the deserving candidates in the Fall because of space limits but they can still take us in the spring ( if thats what we indicated on the application)

acceptance rate should hover at 14.6% this year according to the number of applications they received and assuming that they take the same number of students.

Yeah that’s about the same as last year so I’m not super worried. 6000 spots is kind of a lot

I don’t think is THAT insane. Cornell yield is about 50%
which means that they are gonna accept something like 6000/7000 thousands people out of the 41,000.
That gives a 14-17 % acceptance rate.

@cuhopeful16 Yeah. about 1000 of those 6000 are early decision admits sooo, lose it some more cause there’s only about 5000 spots. Dont worry though, THEY HAVE TO TAKE US
