Which college at Cornell University would be best suited to condition a person for med school?

Arts and Sciences or Agriculture and Life Sciences?

A&S has biology and physics (I'm interested in both) majors, but CALS has a specialization in human biology.

Is one superior to the other for a major in biology? And is one more selective than the other?

Trying to educate myself here ... :) I'm becoming very interested with Cornell.

Thanks

Well, as far as I know, you can major in anything and still be pre-med, since pre-med is only a bunch of course requirements, a track, if you will. CAS definitely has more variety in terms of courses, and I heard that it’s more competitive than CALS, especially since it receives the most applicants (or at least close to the most).

As to your q about bio, check out this FAQ on the cornell site: [Cornell University Undergraduate Admissions Office - RESOURCES](http://admissions.cornell.edu/resources/faq_answer.cfm?num=23)
From what I gather, it’s the secondary interests that should motivate your application choice.
