Did anyone go to the Cornell Commitment meeting on the 18th? Any more information on the Tradition program? Any info would be appreciated!

Yea any info on the Meining National Scholar thing because I couldn't go to the meeting on Friday so...

There is a lot of information on these pages. Dig around some:

I'm actually an alumni contact for the Cornell Tradition, and have been in the process of email and calling students in my area who have been contacted. After you have read through the online literature, feel free to PM me about any questions you may have. If you leave your email address or phone number, we can also chat.

I wondered if anyone learned anything at the meeting. I understand there are mandatory meetings at some point. Are these during orientation? Does the Cornell Commitment office help you? What kinds of functions are there during the year? Are volunteer opportunties provided through the University? I read in some of the profiles that some Tradition fellows fufilled their volunteer hours by volunteering in their sorority/fraternity? The more information (both positive and negative) available from people who have participated would be great!

Yes. Yes. Socials, volunteer opportunities, and leadership mentoring opportunities. Yes. Yes.

Like I said -- PM me and we can chat over email or phone. I'm answering a bunch of questions about the Tradition for a bunch of admitted students. I would suspect that an alum will try to contact you by the end of next week as well.
