Cornell Days

i know dude, i saw it, its pretty sweeeayyyt

Hey all, I've got a few questions about Cornell days, and I'm much too impatient to wait for the letter the ad office said they would send. How long do you stay there? Is it true that it's only for one day? What do you do if you'd like to stay longer (by a day or 2, if that's even an option)? Any cool guests (I know, Bill Nye) visiting during this time (sadly, no Jon :( ) Do you have pay for the food in the dining halls or do you get free pass-type things? Any other information you could share with this annoyingly curious prospy would be great! Thanks in advance!

Cornell days lasts about a week and a half. you can do ANYTIME during that time period, from hours to the whole entire time (why would you do that? i don't know and you are crazy)

I think you do get one free dinner pass (or at least I distributed them last year...but they were to the kiddies staying overnight...dunno about the ones who just come up and stay at hotel or go home same day)

you get to wear this wonderful! tags that say Class of 2009 so you can spot each other and hopefully get to know some of your future classmates. (don't worry, during orientation, you will know each other more by those red folders everyone seems to be carrying).

april is a very touchy season, it might be wonderfully sunny and warm, but it might be sleeting and cold, so be prepared for either. let's hope it's the former. You will be able to attend the countless info meeting from pre-law, pre-med, to financial aid. if any of you can wake up for 8:40 class on Tuesdays and Thursdays, my class Anthropology of Human Mating is during that time if anyone is interested, just ask ;-) I love that class, and the professor is dynamic and great. but, there are countless other courses you can sit in on (i don't recommend bio 102 -- um...yeah. i mean the professor's not bad, but...eh, and I don't recommend a math course unless you are sure the professor is fluent in english and can speak without an accent)

anyways, i have to meet with my advisor, so good luck! have fun.

Thank you for the info, quynh2007!

I'll be going up with either my mom or dad but I still want to spend the night on-campus. How do they pair you up with current students?

I think I'm gonna take a bus up with the other kid from my town

it's first come first serve...too much of a hassle to try to match ppl in the same major and interest like the regular session

by first come first serve, u mean like whoever gets tehre first during the day, or like u can call in and reserve?

Also, I am seeing that many of you are getting cornell days info in the mail now...and was wondering if alot of you have gotten that yet? I havent, im in canada, despite a 3hr drive to campus, it takes 2weeks min to mail me any package, lol. Anyways, those who know FOR SURE< what are the days of theCornell days? and if you can spare sum time to let me and others know what's in the package, and what they say about cornell days, im sure it would greatly be appreciated,

thkns

I haven't gotten anything yet and I was accepted ED

I talked to admissions again and they said that ED people will be getting packets that are being sent out like tomorrow or something

Is anyone going on the 9th? That's when I'm gonna be there :)

tmrw, man they left it late. it takes at least 2 weeks to get to me. even my acceptance letter arrived in snail mail either day b4 or after christmas day! lol. And im willing to drive 3 hrs for certain packages especially if its sumitn urgent like dorms or wutever, rather than wait 2 wweeks longer than everyone and be last to get it, oh, and another thing : wen i went for my official visit as a recruit, the day after i got back home, i received in the mail a package from cornell telling me all about what official visit is, rules, policies and etc. im like, oh great, AFTER i come back ( and being canadian, i had NO idea wat an offical visit was!)

So, you can't come with your parents AND sleep over? Guess I'll just take the train.

well, my mom is gonna get a hotel room, I'm gonna try and get in a dorm lol

and i jjust remembered, sumting for i think financial aid was due before during admissions process, and i got a letter in the mail, 2.5 weeks after the due date, reminding me to make SURE i send a weird form in(most forms are foreign tooo me as the ontario admissions process is like one internet page takes 5 min online and ur done) by that deadline, that was labelled 2.5 weeks before that day i had it in my hand from the mail

i hope i dont get cornell days letter after its already over, or like the day b4 it starts, sheesh.. fax, email, or ill drive to get it, lol, oh well, i still love cornell

everybody can come down to my place in ctown and get drunk.

just kidding i dont serve under 21 (that would be illegal!)

I'm 21........:D
