I'm currently a junior, and was wondering if anybody had any info on the profile of freshmen for Cornell admitted under ED. I plan on applying to UNC and NC State (the latter is a safety school, I have a decent chance to get into UNC, in state), and since UNC uses Early Action instead of Early Decision it gives me the option to apply to a "reach" school. Thanks.

side question - how hard would it to be to get into graduate program at Cornell applying with an undergrad degree from a college such as NC State or UNC, specifically applying to the Molecular Biology and Genetics program? What do they consider (other than your grades, obviously)?

The class of 05 (THE BEST) haven't been released yet, obviously, since all the decisions have quite possibly not even been finalized yet.

As far as grad school, I know that Cornell grad schools are even harder to get into than their undergrads...as with every graduate school (generally speaking) there is a measure of self-selectiveness because only really intelligent people tend to apply...so it is basically like applying to regular college, but there's a more significant emphasis on grades alone...the most important thing is intelligence (i.e. EC's,recs, etc play a minor role)!!
