Cornell ED

Historically, only one or two students have applied Early Decision to Cornell from my school per year. This year, I already know of over six kids applying ED to Cornell, but they’re all applying to different undergraduate schools from me(Engineering, Arts and Sciences, Agriculture and Life Sciences, Human Ecology). Does this affect my chances of getting accepted? I know it may hurt my chances a little to have many students applying from the same school but does it help that they’re all applying to different schools?

If you want to apply ED to Cornell then do it. Don’t worry about things outside of your.control.

@platinumcraz ,
Agree with @happy1 . Don’t let those things bother you. In my D’s year last year, probably up to 10 + students applied to Cornell. 4 were accpted (only 3 actually attened). Guess what, these four were not the top 5. I don’t know if they were even top 10. I believe 3 of the 4 were top 20 including my D.

It is not all about high stats. Otherwise, the top 5 would have been accepted. They all met initial criteria to get them in the door. After that, it is what you bring to Cornell to make it wants to pick you and how you present it.
