@airportlover I totally understand your point. All my friends apply to more than 10 schools, and they do not want to go to some of them even if they get accepted. Every school reports that they received high #'s of applicants.
@CharismaJyoh hey do you have kakaotalk?
I do think that acceptance rates are down a lot, especially for transfer. It is true that people apply to a lot of schools; I applied to 15. However, that has a lot to do with the randomness of acceptances. There are people that get rejected from Wisconsin, but accepted by Cornell. There is no safe choice anymore (at least in the top 60 of Universities.)
I don’t know what’s happening but I can’t login into my Cornell portal… is anybody else having this issue?
Solved
Does Cornell give waitlist spots to transfer students? Or is it either acceptance or rejection?
As for the rejection weeks people keep talking about, a lot of the rejections tend to be in the first 3 weeks for non-GT. (This past week was the final week of that) Next week should seed more acceptances, but the two weeks after will see much more. Its not to say that you are in, but your chances have increased. You can still get rejected, but have done well thus far.
@thehoff007 So is the general consensus the later you get your decision, the more likely your chances of admission? Does this differ by school?
Greetings fellow worriers,
Has anyone been accepted that did not post sat or act scores? Asking for a homeschooled student who didn’t take either XD
@Jakemeister I have not been accepted or denied although I did not submit either. I have over 60 credits though so I doubt it would have been a deciding factor.
@RamuneDrink , I am in the same boat. I have a lot to recommend me besides those, but never took either test.
Anyone happen to know why the “pin trick” doesn’t work?
@FatEmoLesbian I thought you got accepted already??
@FatEmoLesbian The name is hardly trustworthy.
Hey all, from last year, next week will have more acceptance! ! ! !
But after that will be more rejections…
Hoping we can hear back from next week
Transfer transcript changed to “ordered”. This is supposed to be a good sign correct?
Hi everyone!
I got an email from Cornell saying that the selection committee would like to see course syllabi and course descriptions for all of my major and major-related classes. I’m a community college student and while my fee waiver did not initially go through it was confirmed before the deadline and when I called Cornell, an admissions official told me my application was forwarded to the committee on April 20.
Does anyone have any insight as to the significance of their request? Does this mean I’m likely to be accepted or is it just routine??
Thanks for all the help! Best of luck to everyone!
From previous years’ thread it’s very likely that you are getting in and your should receive result next week
Hey everyone, I had a mishap with my lor and I had emailed Cornell. As opposed to other time when I emailed them in which it took them days to respond and I initially received an automated message, this time they wrote back in five minutes and the email allowed me to submit my professor’s letters of rec even though it was past the deadline. This was two weeks ago and I still haven’t heard a descision. Do you think that their quick response is indicative of anything regarding my application?
@veganmom1223 I think they give priority to certain e-mails over others. So when they request something, they probably respons sooner. I believe it was probably just a preliminary check to make sure that you have all your documents. I don’t think that it means that you’re going to get your decision sooner or later than anyone, who did not get that notice. They did announce on the portal, that students received such requests on April 19.
