Transferring to Cornell

Hi All,

I'm currently looking to transfer to Cornell, and just wanted a gist of how the college experience/community is at Cornell. Also potentially an evaluation of what chance I stand. I'm a prospective Econ major at NYU. I'm currently a freshman. My reasons for leaving NYU mostly revolve around the lack of community and a desperate lack of intellectualism because it's so exceedingly pre-professional(everyone's out to make money here).

Some stats:

HS GPA: 3.8/4.0 - 4.25/5.0
ACT - 31 single sitting(33 combined)
College GPA: 3.92/4.0
SAT 2s: 770 USH and 800 Math 2
APs: USH - 5, Calc AB - 5, Calc BC - 4, Env. Science - 4, APCS - 3(didn't take the class), AP literature - 4, AP Econ - 4

College Classes:
Analytical Statistics
Calculus 3
Linear Algebra
Developmental Economics
Principles of Macroeconomics
GE Liberal Arts class
Another GE liberal arts class
Writing 1 and Writing 2
Elementary Chinese

Note. I'm relatively ashamed of my high school performance, many of my essays will focus on my growth both in terms of maturity and diligence. I have some pretty cool life experiences to share.

ECs:
High School:
-Started DECA business club at my high school.
-Interned at the Psychology department at Stanford. Conducted research on issues related to academic performance in teenagers.
-Varsity Tennis
-Organized charity talent shows for 3 years in a row(Interact club).
-Scholar-Athlete
-Honor Roll(3.5+)
College:
-Founded a company, development is in phase, minimum viable product probably by May.

Any suggestions, advice would be much much appreciated!

bump…any advice would be helpful

Also, if it helps, I received a rather prestigious 20k scholarship/grant from NYU. Don’t know how much it’ll weigh into Cornell’s decisions.

buuuuump, will chance back!

You sound like you’re in really good shape. A lot of my friends go to NYU and I get the same feeling. Come here.

Thanks man! Are you in CALS? Would you happen to know much about their Economics department?
