While some colleges that meet need give better aid than others, the gap between high and low given these schools makes no sense.

Ill give them a call. Maybe they just like me =]

The two places that gave the $40K packages were both pre-professional specialty schools (Cornell’s hotel school and WUSTL’s business school). The others are arts and science programs. Different applicant pools, I suppose. The large packages may be merit grants and the others need-based.

But you’re right, Twaan. Somebody likes you :)

Cornell only gives need based aid from what I know. WashU could be merit, but not Cornell unless the hotel school is different. Bowdoin and NU give similar need based aid to Cornell’s. While I’ve certainly seen Profile schools come up with quite different packages, I’ve never seen a spread close to this one. If the other need based aid schools had close offers and Cornell offered $34K more, I’m guessing they made a mistake somewhere.

It happens so I would clarify because they will take you new tax returns and adjust aid.

All money aside…can we rank these schools in order of prestige/job placement/best education:

<bump> 10 char</bump>

Wow U got in all these good schools and u are too dumb to pick one:D

I’m sorry but it makes me angry when someone applies to Cornell’s Hotel School even though they have no interest in the industry. It also frustrates me when Cornell accepts a student to the Hotel School who has no passion or knowledge of the industry. Pretty sure companies like Marriott didn’t give institutions like Cornell, Purdue, UNLV, etc. millions of dollars to educate people who don’t want to go into the hospitality industry.
